Kitty Hawk Middle School Library empowers learners to seek information and ideas through providing opportunities for critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication.

Mrs. Wendy Howk

Mrs. Howk joined the Kitty Hawk Library for the 2021-2022 school year. She brings experience as a library instruction coordinator, librarian, general education teacher, and special education teacher in both North East ISD and Northside ISD.  She is passionate about working with students and teachers to ignite their passion for reading and learning.   

Mrs. Howk has a Bachelor's degree in Humanities from Trinity University, Master of Arts in Teaching from Trinity University, and her Masters in Library Science from Sam Houston State University.   

 

Mrs. Marilu Perez

Ms. Perez joined the Kitty Hawk Library during the 2018-2019 school year. Prior to joining Kitty Hawk, she substitute taught. Prior to that she was a home healthcare giver. She is the product of JISD schools including Franz Elementary, Kitty Hawk Middle, and Judson High schools. 

Students visiting the Library during the school day must:

  • have a signed Library Pass from their teacher
  • sign in and out of the Library using the Google Form 
  • follow KHMS rules & expectations

Students visiting the Library must:

  • sign in 
  • clean up 
  • push in chairs when leaving
  • behave in ways that do not disrupt others in the Library

Check Out Procedures:

  • Students should have their KHMS issued ID to check out books
  • Students may check out up to 3 books
  • Books are checked out for 3 weeks (21 school days)
  • Book may be renewed for an additional 3 weeks

Lost or Damaged Books:

  • Students must pay for lost books or books damaged beyond repair (Cash only is accepted for payment)
  • Student checkout may be limited until all overdue books are returned
